This year we planned a simple but meaningful gift for Mother’s Day: a carnation for every woman at each Mass. We ordered 300 carnations (thank God our supplier found them at the last minute!). The Knights wrapped each flower with a ribbon and prepared pails of water to keep them fresh.
On the weekend, carnations were placed in pails of water and staged for distribution. For Sunday Masses, the pails were set in the top balcony so Knights could reach them quickly. After the Blessing, Father invited all mothers to stand, and the available Knights walked the aisles to present a flower to each woman.
Coverage was set for the 5:00 pm Saturday and 10:00 am Sunday Masses. We put out a call for extra help at the Sunday noon Mass to make sure every pew was covered. Thank you, Brothers, for the fast wrapping and smooth distribution — awesome teamwork!
If you can help next year (wrapping or handing out), please reach out: support@kofc9846.org. Thank you to all the Knights who made Mother’s Day special for our parish.
